Mindfulness is the process in psychology where someone brings their attention to experiences happening presently. This can be developed by practicing meditation or other training which also develops their wisdom and self knowledge that leads gradually to enlightenment or a freedom completely without suffering. Studies show that this practice is correlated strongly with perceived health and greater well being.

They also show anxiety, depression and other mental illness were due to rumination and worry that this practice could reduce effectively if used to intervene them. Gratitude is the powerful way in training you to notice the positives in life rather the negatives and is what happiness is founded on. Practice self compassion through avoiding being self critical and being harsh to self when coping with facing hardships. Meditation is the training of developing new relationship to your thoughts yourself to lessen their impact with your emotional state. This makes you master of your mind and thoughts rather than their slave so before challenges arrive, train them. This helps you become strong mentally when needed.
