The electrical discharge machining is controlled metal removing procedure that is used for removing metals by means of electric spark erosion. This procedure will let the electrical spark as a cutting tool to cut the piece and produce the finished part into the desired shape. The metal removing procedure will be performed by applying a pulsating electrical charge with an on and off switch with a high frequency currents through the electrodes into the work piece. This machine can at least produce feeble electric etching tools that were not very successful. The wire EDM is a thin and small single strand of metal wire usually a material called brass is fed through the work pieces then submerged inside the tank of dielectric fluid that is deionized water. They are specially used when cutting thick plates and make tools, dies and punches from various hard metals that are difficult with other methods. The wire is being fed with a spool that is being held from the lower and upper diamond guides.

The advantages of using EDM is that it make complex shapes that are otherwise be difficult to produce when using conventional cutting tools. They are extremely hard materials and devices that provide no tolerances. They can work with tiny pieces where devices and tools may damage the parts from the excess of cutting tool pressure.

Some disadvantages however are the power consumption of this machine is very high. It will make the power and the payment much higher than intended. There could be some overcuts that may form after the procedure. The tool is going to wear out after excessive machining.

These would make someone more informative and gain the necessary aspects and concepts that are useful for the procedure.
