What Makes Yamaha Motorbikes Top The Motorsports Dealer Riverside County

By Jay Dy

In a recent survey, Consumer Reports conducted a survey based on owner feedback which found Yamaha Motorcycles to be the most reliable brand. When the magazine asked for survey responses, 11,000 Motorsports Dealer Riverside County riders responded. Their experiences and opinions on their bikes incorporated 12,000 bikes purchased new between 2008 and 2014.

How Yamaha Stacks Up on Reliability.Motorcycles manufactured in Japan have been ranked among the top. Yamaha was the first then Suzuki, Honda, and Kawasaki follow in that order. Brands such as Ducati, Triumph, and BMW were reported to be more prone to repair.

Harley-Davidson owners reported that their bikes were twice as likely, 26 percent, to experience major issues in the first four years. Triumph owners fared a bit worse on reliability than Harley. Ducati and BMW owners reported low reliability, and the study shows that 33 percent of new Ducatis and 40 percent new BMWs require major repairs early in life. Can-Am trikes did the worst at 42 percent.

Branding. Surprisingly, despite the reliability factor, Yamaha Motorcycles did not rank at the top of bikes owners would buy again. European bikes seem to have a certain cool factor, related to the price tag, which defies real experience faced by owners.

Labeling the products.Despite Yamaha receiving high ratings regarding reliability, most of the owners would not place it as their priority when purchasing another bike. Yamaha has created a good brand image that attracts many motorcycle enthusiasts, and that is why most people prefer it when buying a motorcycle for the first time. Its comfort is also part of the reason why most people rank it highly above other brands.

That does not mean that Yamaha is not in love with their bikes. They get more value for their money. You need to discard the idea of getting cheap products to save money.
